Now available from MGS as feminized seeds, find out why four heads are sometimes better than one with this captivating cannabis hybrid.
Mandarin Punch Terpene Profile
Marijuana strains with ‘punch; in the name are usually fruit flavoured, and you can expect this exceptional example to conform to the stereotype. Mandarin Punch’s fruity aromas are less than discreet but incredibly pleasant, and once your plants reach their flowering stage, your grow space will quickly fill with a fragrant blend of sweet orange scents that remain right up until harvest time. Its flavour retains these subtle citrus elements but also blends chemical notes, tropical tastes, and a strong and spicy kush aftertaste owing to its potent landrace pedigree.
Limonene and myrcene are the most prominent terpenes you’ll find within this particular plant. Myrcene is commonly associated with skunk strains, but also mangos, and rumour has it that consuming this tropical fruit can actually increase the sedative effects of indica plants. Mandarin Punch abundant terpenes also include caryophyllene and terpinolene, which lends it some of the spicy, earthy flavours that are often linked to OG Kush plants.
Mandarin Punch Strain Effects
Owing to its indica-rich lineage, Mandarin Punch effects are physically oriented with a heavy couch-lock high that will put you in your place. However, it still features some sativa-influence and opens with a rush of uplifting THC-fueled energy before its more relaxing side kicks in. Although creatively inspiring and promoting a happy, satisfied mindset throughout, its full-bodied influence is formidable, resulting in strong, sleep-inducing psychoactive effects.
If you find that indica strains usually put you to sleep, then this Maple Leaf Indica x White Widow x NYC Diesel x California Indica hybrid is likely to have an even more pronounced effect. Mandarin Punch THC ranges from 15-25%, and high levels of myrcene terpenes make its sedative influence difficult to withstand. We don’t recommend consuming this phenotype during daylight hours unless you’re ready for a prolonged power nap, so stick to something more sativa-dominant if you prefer stronger cerebral effects.
How to Grow Mandarin Punch Strain
If you’re planning on growing Mandarin Punch feminized seeds outside, it’s worth knowing that these cannabis seeds fare best in temperate or continental climates. Otherwise, it’s recommended that breeders stick to indoor setups, where Mandarin Punch has a better chance of survival.
Thankfully, these feminized seeds won’t require much maintenance and adapt well to supercropping techniques like SCROG (Screen of Green), SOG (Sea of Green), and lollipopping. The plant follows an indica dominant growth structure, and breeders can expect average height plants with a sturdy central stem, lots of leafy side branches, and plenty of bright green, brassy trichome covered buds.
Mandarin Punch indoor flowering time is relatively quick, and this strain will reach the final stage of its maturation around nine weeks from germination. As this is a feminized variety, you won’t have to worry about identifying and removing male plants from your grow room, but unlike an autoflowering strain, you will need to pay close attention to your light cycles and adjust accordingly once the strain is ready for flowering.
Mandarin Punch heavy yields are one of this strain’s most significant selling points, and, with the correct setup, big and beautiful harvests of between 500-600g per/m2 are more than possible.
