Herz OG Genetic Profile
Following in the footsteps of legends like Snoop Dawg, Berner, and Wiz Khalifa, Berlin-based rap superstar Herzog is the latest in a long line of hip-hop artists to get a cannabis strain named after them. Made in partnership with the breeders at the Exotic Seed company, Herz OG marijuana seeds are a fitting tribute to the Thoroughbred Hustler, and team-up two of the finest OG Kush cuts on the market.
With its tremendous THC content that’s high enough to satisfy even hardcore consumers and a sweet and smokey flavour profile, this signature indica/sativa strain has already won multiple awards for its unique attributes and sold out quickly upon original release. Now back due to popular demand, fans will be delighted to hear that Herz OG is once again available as feminized seeds from the MGS online store.
Combining Larry OG and Kosher Kush – two potent Californian strains – while Herz OG lineage might be more West Coast than West Berlin, its combination of quality US genetics is the stuff of an OG Kush fanatic’s fantasy. Perfect for a little lyrical inspiration or for relaxing ahead of your next freestyle battle, this feminised cup-winning cultivar is totally off the chain and credit to its heritage, marking a welcome new addition to the OG Kush collective.
Herz OG Strain Terpene Profile
Herz OG aroma is thick and rich with the sort of punch-to-the-face pungency that’s befitting of heritage. The plant’s heady kush funk will quickly overtake a grow room if not addressed as these fresh wood, pine, and pepper scents become especially intense during its flowering period. Luckily, there are many cheap and reliable methods available to growers designed specifically for indoor growers seeking a more discreet experience.
Although far less sweet than Gelato or a Girl Scout Cookies strain, on the tongue, consumers will taste honey, spices, and smoky hash flavours that leave a tickle in the back of the throat but a big smile on the face.
Kush plants are generally rich in spicy, stronger smelling terps like caryophyllene, myrcene, and humulene. Herz OG abundant terpenes also include alpha-pinene, nerolidol, and linalool. Nerolidol, which is also known as peruviol and penetrol, can be found in all manner of plants and spices and has a woody smell that’s reminiscent of fresh bark. It’s also currently being tested as a possible skin penetration enhancer, which may one day revolutionize the delivery of transdermal therapeutic drugs.
Herz OG Strain Effects
This new member of the OG dynasty placed 3rd at the Spannabis Champions Cup 2018 in the indica category, and once you’re fully acquainted, you’ll be scratching your head as to why it didn’t get the top spot. Herz OG effects hit like a freight train, dragging the consumer into a relaxing, full-bodied high that may be too intense for some. Couchlock is a definite possibility, and even if you’re fully acquainted with the effects of strong cannabis, this premier plant’s intoxicating influence will take you right back to the first time you ever inhaled.
Without chemical analysis, we have no way of knowing Herz OG THC content for sure. However, as both its parents have been lab-tested, we can make an educated guess. Larry OG is a high THC strain that regularly measures between 21-25%, while Kosher Kush can reach up to 29% THC, which certainly classifies its descendent as a heavyweight. Even experienced smokers will be surprised at the strength of its effects, so if you’re a newcomer to the cannabis scene, this is definitely not the strain to open with.
Herz OG Strain Medical Benefits
Cannabis grown from Herz OG female seeds is recommended for relaxing, and its main medical benefit is ultimately stress relief. It’s hard to worry about the little things when you’re riding high above your problems on a cloud of carefree bliss. It may not offer a permanent solution to your struggles, but it’s tranquillizing effects can offer a temporary respite and alleviate some of the physical effects of stress for a few hours of the evening.
Thanks to a wickedly high THC content and terpene profile that’s rich in myrcene and linalool, this Larry OG x Kosher Kush cross also has intoxicating sedative effects that may be useful to insomniacs. As it’s known to induce a particularly deep sleep when consumed in excess, Herz OG medical benefits can be used for many different kinds of sleep disorder, including less common conditions like sleep paralysis and somnambulance.
How to Grow Herz OG Strain
Growing Herz OG feminized cannabis seeds doesn’t take as long as many other phenos in the OG family but still presents many of the same problems. Indoor or greenhouse growth is advised if you live outside of a Californian climate, and though this plant follows the short, robust growth of a typical indica pheno, its smell is intense and will likely draw unwanted attention if not properly managed. Growers with smaller indoor setups can use simple carbon filters, but a more extensive, commercial site may require a more powerful form of odour control.
A good extractor fan or air purifier may do the trick, and something like this is also recommended if you’re attempting SOG or SCROG growth, where multiple plants are reared in close proximity.
Even without using such production boosting techniques, Hertz OG won’t disappoint. Expect around 400–450g/m² of dense green and orange buds once your plants are fully matured. It should also be noted that these feminized photoperiod seeds are a little quicker to flower than lots of Kush strains. If you are lucky enough to live in an environment that’s suitable for outdoor growth, your plants will be ready to harvest in late October, but otherwise, Hertz OG flowering time is around nine short weeks from germination, which is even quicker than you’ll find with some autoflowering strains.
