Durban Strain Genetics
Sensi Seeds‘ version of Durban or Durban Poison is named after the Port of Durban, the largest shipping terminal in sub-Saharan Africa. For as long as anyone can remember, South Africa’s landrace sativa has been famed and loved for its hard-hitting effects. The plant’s thick coating of trichomes makes it ideal for extracting concentrates.
Durban Strain Terpene Profile
Durban’s terpene profile is its distinguishing feature evident in its sweet aroma, characteristic sativa blend of spicy citrus, and the earthy scent of a damp pine forest floor.
Durban Strain Effects
Durban is one of those sativas that is renowned for its hard-hitting and fast-acting effect. In small doses, this strain is the perfect pick-me-up along with a cup of coffee and is guaranteed to energize your mind and spark your creativity. Larger doses can be experienced as a mind-boggling, cerebral trip. No wonder the effect of this strain is often described as psychedelic. If the strain becomes too overwhelming, check out our tips on what to do when you get too high.
How to Grow Durban Seeds
Although Durban Poison is a mold and pest resistant strain accustomed to colder, outdoor climates, this usually results in lower yields. Durban produces the best yield when grown in a hydroponic setup or using sea of green (SOG) techniques. If the roots have enough space to grow, the plant will develop long, strong side branches. These branches will form large, dense colas with a thick coat of furry white trichomes that are ideal for pressing into concentrates.
