AK Strain Genetics
AK, also known as AK-47, first originated in Amsterdam in 1992, created by Dutch seed company Serious Seeds. A 60/40 sativa-dominant hybrid with a strong Colombian, Mexican, Thai and Afghani heritage, AK flaunts both a complex blend of aromatic, earthy flavours and potent effects.
AK Strain Effects
AK is the ideal variety for daytime use as it uplifts moods, increases productivity, promotes creativity and leaves you feeling alert, talkative and engaged.
Likewise, when in the right mindset, it can produce a relaxing and euphoric body-stoned sensation. As any true cannaisseur knows, you’ll get the most out of this strain by vaping it, just as Simon (the original breeder), intended.
AK Strain Terpene Profile
With a skunk-like musk peppered with hints of pine and sandalwood, AK’s playful woodland and citrus undertones contrast pleasantly with its pungent diesel finish.
Its hypnotic mix of terpenes delivers rich earthy flavours on the inhale and tart, savoury flavours imbued with a petroleum-based taste on the exhale.
How to Grow AK Seeds
Despite being a sativa-dominant hybrid, AK plants are stocky and fast-flowering. Growing to a medium height with a medium yield, AK is ideal for indoor cultivation in either hydroponics or soil.
While AK is relatively easy-to-grow, it might not be suitable for first-time cultivators who don’t yet have the knowledge, equipment or skills required to deal with its pungent smell.
If grown well, AK produces compact, pale green flowers (that aren’t too leafy), covered in bright orange resin crystals.
