Sadly, with hemp and cannabis plants being criminalised in 1937, it wasn’t until almost 60 years later that legal cannabis made its way back into the U.S legally, with California the first state to legalize the medicinal use of the plant.

However, in the years that followed, more than half of the U.S. now offers some form of legalized cannabis, be it recreational or medical marijuana with cannabis now a firmly established member of popular mainstream American culture.
