With the passing of the new law, possession limits for adults over the age of 21 are:

• Up to 30 grams of cannabis flower
• Up to 500 milligrams of THC in cannabis-infused products
• Up to 5 grams of cannabis concentrates

Can I Grow Cannabis in Illinois?

Yes! From January 2020, it is now possible to grow cannabis legally in Illinois for those aged 21 and older. However, as you might expect, there are some important rules to be aware of. Under the new law, the regulations require that cultivation must be:

• Kept in an enclosed, secured area
• Contain no more than five cannabis plants more than five inches tall
• Not visible to the public
• Grown only on a home residential property owned by the grower or with the consent of the owner
